We provide financial support for local community projects and regularly help orphans and widows in our communities. We also participate in various projects in effort to improve the socio-economics of farmers, by providing free seedling, hands on trainings and many others. We work together with local Indonesian Government and Educational Institutions in effort to reduce risk of tsunami impact and land erosion in several regions in Indonesia.

ESG PROJECTS
Sustainable Massoia
In 2014, Mitra Ayu brought Massoia seeds and saplings from Papua to our Plantation in Solok, West Sumatra. Today, more than 20,000 thriving Massoia trees of varying sizes grow in Solok, demonstrating their adaptability outside of Papua.
Our ultimate goal is to ensure Massoia trees thrive both in the wild and on the plantation while meeting the demands of a growing market.
Tissue Culture
Mitra Ayu is embracing tissue culture to expedite the propagation of various essential oil plant species, such as Massoia, Tea Tree, Eucalyptus plants and many others.
By leveraging tissue culture technique, Mitra Ayu successfully demonstrates the potential of tissue culture in meeting the demands of a growing market while promoting sustainability and conservation.
Making Briquette from Waste
We have successfully recycled and repurposed 100% of our solid waste. We recycled our solid waste and turned it into briquette which then used as fuel hence eliminates the need for coal. The ashes are used to neutralize the soil pH in our plantation.
Palm Shells for Fuel
The practice of recycling waste and making briquette is good, but it takes a lot of energy to produce the briquette. We are looking at alternative of using palm shells for fuel to save on
electricity and to reuse our solid waste as organic fertilizer and soil mixture. The ashes from palm shells can also be used to neutralized the soil pH.
1 MILLION TREES PROJECT
Mitra Ayu participates in a joint effort with West Sumatra government to plant 1 million pine trees along the coast of West Sumatra in effort to minimize impact of tsunami disaster and tidal floods.
Vetiver to reduce landslide & erosion
Together with Indonesian government, Mitra Ayu provides know-how and expertise in the benefit of Vetiver plants as well as donating seedlings in effort to reduce landslide and erosion in Indonesia.
Partnering with farmers towards sustainable agriculture
Partnering with local farmers, Mitra Ayu provides seedlings of Patchouli, Vetiver, Citronella, Massoia, Cajeput and many others. In addition, Mitra Ayu also guides and trains farmers on how to grow these plants successfully.
