Eugenol (4-allyl-2-methoxyphenol) is a phenolic compound with the molecular formula C₁₀H₁₂O₂ and a structure as shown in Figure 1.

This compound is mainly found in clove oil (Syzygium aromaticum) and is known for its wide range of applications in various industries, including pharmaceuticals, food, and agriculture. Eugenol is well known for its strong pharmacological properties, making it a valuable ingredient in many medicinal and commercial products.
